NEW RECORDING: Handel Harpsichord Suites
My new solo recording is out: 4 CDs of the most beautiful harpsichord music by G.F. Handel. For completely obscure reasons this is still in some ways neglected repertoire, especially if compared to the popularity of his famous Leipzig collegue´s harpsichord oeuvre. Harpsichordists seem to avoid Handel and for a while so did I. But then, once I had a look at it, I couldn´t stop again. So these are the fruits of my latest Handel obsession.
But listen for yourself. Here are some MP3s from the new recording (the files are big so have patience - but in bad MP3 quality a harpsichord sounds just unbearable):
Prélude from Suite in A-major HWV 426
Prélude from Suite in F sharp minor HWV 431
Sonata from Suite B flat major HWV 434
Air:Lentement from Suite in D minor HWV 436
For know I can only hope the new recording will be as well received as the last one, my "Complete Harpsichord Music" by Francois Couperin on no less then 11 CDs. Click here for some quotes from happy reviewers.
Chamber Music:
On the chamber music front we´ve just released the "Paris Quartets" by G. Ph. Telemann with Musica ad Rhenum - exceptionally beautiful music that defies the old Hausmusik-prejudice Telemann is still suffering from.
